I can guarantee you that as the SP4 gets closer to release date, there will be a ton of SP3's on the market. If you can wait until then, you are correct that will probably be your best bet.

They are plentiful on eBay right now, but no telling what a whole herd of motivated sellers will do to pricing.

When I was shopping for my Surface 3 few deals were to be found. I finally purchased from Newegg.com as they were throwing in a $70 Microsoft Bluetooth mouse if you purchased the keyboard cover at the same time.

Microsoft is still selling refurbished SP3s with i5, 128GB and keyboards for $850 on both Amazon and Ebay.
