I've been playing around with sleep settings, particularly revolving around requiring a password when waking and going to sleep when the keyboard cover is closed. I'm still unsure was to what's going on--I'll need to dig deeper to track things on a system level.

At this point, I'll say: 1) The system absolutely does not require a password when waking from sleep, but it does when resuming from hibernate and I think it will time out eventually and require a password (perhaps whatever the timing is set at), and 2) the keyboard cover trigger does work, evidenced by the system shutting down when set to do so when keyboard cover is closed. And so it could be that the system sleeps when triggered, but just doesn't lock when waking up.

Things remain uncertain enough that I'll keep hibernating when I need the system to be truly "off" and to be locked when I wake it up/resume it. I'll be reporting the "require password" issue yet again in the hopes that Microsoft will fix it one day.

10166 installedand still have apps that will only start if connected to the internet. No internet means they open the store and then force close. People app is still not working.

Anyone else getting this type of behaviour ? Asked a few pages back but no one gave any replies. Want to know if it's just me !

Applies to Netflix and other apps. No internet means app doesn't start, it opens the store and then shuts down.

I would also say that general app opening even when on line is slower so I wonder if it's always checking for some form of license etc.

Started with the builds last week (10159, I think - went through so many last week got a bit lost...)

Thanks

I just turned off my WiFi, fired up the Netflix app, and it opened fine. It ran for a bit and then complained that there was no Internet.

I am running the 10166 on my Surface. How can i change the default funtion of the pen? I want OneNote 2013 Desktop and not the App.

on build 10166 my start menu will only stay open/visible for 3-4 seconds at a time. This is regardless of whether I am scrolling through the app list, etc. or idle.

Rats. That means I must have a problem. Any one else or any clues why it should happen ?

I did a clean install of 130 and have upgraded from there. Behaviour appeared from 101158 I think.
