Solved Will Touch cover work when removed from SP3?

New to SP3 & would like to know if the touch cover keyboard works when disconnected from the unit.

No it doesn't. You used to be able to buy a bluetooth adapter to enable this kind of thing but it was discontinued.
You can still get them from eBay etc if you really want it.

Well that surprises me. I already have a bt kbd I use for shortcuts when using Corel & Photoshop in tablet mode. I guess I just saved some money. Now I need to look for a cover for just the screen. Thanks daniielrp.

My guess is that they wanted thin and light which couldn't be achieved with a battery in the keyboard.

That's probably it. Anyone know of a cover like the iPad Smart Cover for the Surface Pro 3? Just the front cover not a case.
Edit: Ordered an Incipio Rosevelt folio cover for $10 & will add a metal piece so it sticks to the magnets on bottom. Hope it works, but I'll keep trying till I get what I want.
