Throttling - Time to put it to bed

Lets look at the whole picture not just one test.
In the cinebench, pcmark, 3DMark test group: SP3 won 4, SP2 won 5, with 2 Ties.
most differences were less than 10% with 1 each between 10 & 15% difference (11 & 13%).

In the browser test & other 3D mark group: SP3 won 7, SP2 won Zero, No Ties.
3 test were won by 10% or more, 4 less than 10%.

Then you have DOTA and WIFI. sp2 wins DOTA by 40% and SP3 wins WIFI by 39%.

SP3 handily won all the browser tests, and the WIFI test and was pretty even on the rest with only one exception. You know what. I don't even have to think about this. I'll take the SP3 every time.

Well that's why I said "hardcore performance". By that I mean gaming, because I know the Pro 3 is faster in small things, like booting and browsing and general navigation I believe.

It would be interesting to see if the Pro 3 gaming benchmarks have changed at all.

Let's not forget that all Surface owners are on the same team here.

The SP3 was designed in a way that addressed things that the SP2 was lacking, bigger screen and a lighter form factor.

Those two factors are why I returned the SP2 and waiting for the release of the SP3. If the SP3 wasn't released so quickly, I would have stayed happily with the SP2 because of what the Surface line is, it is a hybrid device that most people still don't understand.

I brought my SP3 to a family gathering and everyone marvelled at it. Thin like a tablet, touch screen, pen input, and it's a full blown computer. If I still had my SP2, they would still be blown away with it.

Microsoft is addressing the throttling issues, but seeing as the SP3 is so thin, there has to some compromise so that we don't burn out the internals when we tax the system.

Let's not all fight between models and be happy for each other when things get sorted out and fixed.
