Solved Surface Pro 3 touch pad issues?

My touch key pad on Surface Pro 3 will no longer illuminate the keys. The caps lock is the only one that lights up and the mouse has full function. Do I need to get another touch pad or,. is there a way to turn it back on?

I loved how the keys were illuminated in a darkly lit room. now I to turn on a light. You do not know how much you miss it until it stops working.

I hope it is a simple fix.

Problem resolved, all I had to do is hold down Fn and the press F2. Now I got the illuminated keys again.

Exact same thing happened to me, must have been an update that affected a few machines. Thought my Type Cover was defective, but luckily thought to check for brightness buttons before calling...
