Type Cover Issue

The cover is attached. Definitely a hardware issue then? Or could this be a missing driver issue?

It is either a HW or a FW issue.

If feasible, I'd just take it back to a MS store so they could test both SP3 and keyboard, and replace whatever is not functional.

If you have a DMM, you can measure the voltages on the 6 pin keyboard connector.

I went to the Store last week, and they were able to swap out the Surface. The clerk was very nice and cooperative, took about 10 minutes. Now I've noticed that I have the same driver issue that KCIC has. The keyboard and track pad work, but stuff like two-finger scrolling doesn't. The device settings screen shows that the Type Cover driver is "unavailable".
