Even if you're wearing a T-shirt and shorts with no pockets, the clip means you can just slide the pen over the neckline. You can also get a cheap lanyard with a clip-off little string loop at the end and keep it with your work ID or the lanyard tied to your bag or whatever. People just find all sorts of reasons to complain for no reason when there are so many ways of dealing with this minor thing for which there are so many technical reasons not to make a chassis silo. Not very creative/smart folks by any stretch of the imagination.
