Calculating Screen Work Area

Listening to Panos talk about "content area", I'm curious what he means by that. He says that the PS3 has 6% more content area than a Macbook Air 13.3". But the screen area of the MBA 13 is 79.5 square inches (11.3 x 7). The SP3 has a screen area of 66.46 square inches (10 x 6.7).

The MBA 11 is 57.48 sq in, so yeah, the SP3 has about 15% more real estate. But the MBA 13 has about 20% more real estate than the SP3.

Color me confused. How does Panos claim the SP3 have 6% more content area than the MBA 13?

It is combination of Screen Real Estate, Aspect Ratio and Resolution....

MBA 13 is 1400x900 where the SP3 is 2160x1440, which is a denser screen... most likely at WWDC Apple will announce a MBA with Retina Display.

Yeah, but 2160x1440 is greater than 6% more than 1400x900. I'm curious about how he got that figure. Just sounds kinda contrived. The idea of getting the workspace of a 13.3" on a 12" is very alluring.

I have a Surface RT and a Surface Pro 2 today. I'm selling both of them as soon as my SP3 arrives. :)

They are referring the amount of information that fits on the screen.... my 6" 1080 Lumia 1520 could display more information than my 10.6" 720 Surface RT....
