ZXCV keys not working

Hi guys

I’m new here, hope to partake & learn a lot. Just bought my surface pro 6 with type cover and pen.

I have an issue straight off the bat I’m hoping I can get some help for.

The following keys on the type cover do not work at all: ZXCV.

I have reinstalled the keyboard drivers. I’ve reset the device many times. And I’m up to date on all updates.

Can I presume it is the hardware that is faulty and needs to be returned? Anyone else had this?

Any help appreciated as it’s driving me mad!

Do you believe they were working previously?

Indeed a likely defective type cover. Any way to try someone else’s cover for a moment?

No they never worked. I’ve only had it 2 days.

I’d love to try someone else’s keyboard but I don’t know anyone with a sp6. Might try a shop?

Might try an internet café, a coffee shop, a computer repair shop, a library, a college campus. A kind patron may allow you to do a 1 minute test.

I do not own a SP6. Is the type cover reversible? If so, have you tried connecting it that way?

Get I new cover, if it is that new it should be an exchange
