Windows 10 Preview on Surface Pro 3

I installed Office, but found that it cannot handle Form controls, ActiveX controls, OLE objects, or Signatures. Fortunately, a message box notified me of that, so it was not a mystery. I had some work to crank out, and would rather not have it on my machine yet.

So I uninstalled the Excel Preview only, and I placed PowerPoint Preview and Word Preview on probation.

I decided to jump in an upgraded my sp3 last night. Created bookable use install disk, wiped disk (fresh install) and not one problem during the install or subsequent use.

Windows update has I believe delivered all the updates I need? Do I need to install further drivers from elsewhere?

Loving windows 10, it's just making sense.

They do need a more accessible brightness control capability (fixed with touch gesture studio) and also they should purchase battery bar pro to boost the power visibility side of things.

Haven't had time to get my head around how multi desktop spaces now work, I assume a gesture somewhere will make it click.

Ps anyone got feedback on how stable bit locker is with this tp?

It shouldn't need a driver for the SSD as it is a SATA Interface, you can download the SP3 Firmware Update files from January and add the driver....

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38826

The Driver would be found in this path:

\Surface Pro 3 - January 2015\Surface Pro 3 - January 2015\Intel\SATA_AHCI\9.4.0.1023\

Thanks, I did select those drivers in the beginning and they showed up in the selection but for some reason it would not accept them, but will try again
*****update ****

tried again but no luck, does anyone have any suggestion

By the way, if anyone's having the issue where the SP3 seems to hang when coming out of sleep and needs to be forcibly shut down, try this first. I was having the issue, and then during one episode accidentally unplugged the SP3. Lo and behold, the screen popped on like usual and I could login. Then, it happened when on battery, so I plugged in, unplugged, and again it woke up.

It's worked for me pretty uniformly...
I'm having this issue. Gotta try this! Problem is at work I'm on battery and don't charger with me. But I'll see this weekend at home if unplugging work and may even run on battery (all day to run it down and re-charge it up) to see if plugging in works for me.

I really want to try this but dont know where to start. Is this ready for a daily use wirt good battery?
When joining a thread as long as this one there is a decent chance your question has already been answered multiple times already. Take the time to read through the thread and familiarize yourself before asking. Good luck.

Short answer IMHO: Not really and not great.

You could try to 'force' it. Untick the box which says to show compatible only, and then manually select from any list of drivers it shows you.

Also I just read your other post about the drive not showing up. You can check in Disk Manager to see if it is actually recognised by the system. If it is recognised, but not properly allocated or does not have a drive letter attached, it won't show up in your File Explorer (or command prompt).

HI
Thanks for your input, think I did try that, but will have another go, the hard drive is my main hard drive so everything is present and correct, it's just when I try to install window from fresh there are no hard drive to select but presume this is because it can't find the driver for the controller, But can't think why
Thanks again

Ok another update, recreated the bootable windows image on my USB drive using a programme called Rufus and that seem to do the trick, all the partitions are now showing.

Big thanks for all your help and suggestions

Good to hear that you've got it sorted.
