Trying to refresh

Trying to refresh to help with battery issues, but I'm getting "could not find recovery environment". What is this about? I didn't do anything out of the ordinary setting this thing up.

And I checked and I do currently have a 5.08gb recovery partition that is healthy.

If I try and create a recovery drive, it says some files are missing and to install my original media. How am I supposed to do that when it comes with none?

I get to the command prompt to create the recovery media. It Initializes 100%, then says Creating Snapshot, gets to 27% and says "The recovery image cannot be written".

After doing that, refresh says "Some files are missing". I just created a recovery drive, and tried refresh again, but it still isn't picking up from it. Any ideas?

The plot thickens.... My recovery partition is 100% free, so that makes sense that Windows can't find it. In Computer Management -> Storage though, I can't do anything with that partition (drive letter, delete, format, etc.) - the only option is help. What am I missing here? Why is it blank? How can I get data onto it?

Did you purchase Online or at the Store? At this point I would exchange it.....

Best buy. Microsoft is sending an advanced replacement. Definitely something funky going on
