Sp2 4300 cpu?

Hi I'm going to get a Surface Pro 2 in the next week or so from the UK Microsoft student site

I just found out about the CPU upgrade they did and was wondering if all new SP2s come with the upgraded CPU or is it a lottery still?

All the 'new' ones do. Do a search on 'lot number' and you should find what you're looking for.

I asked a MS rep today about the CPU and he said that all Surface Pro 2s ship with the 4300 and have done for over a month. He then guaranteed that is the processor I would get.

The problem was how to tell if you're buying a 'new' unit or one that's been sitting on the shelves for 3 months. That's why I suggested looking at the 'lot number' threads.

If it helps at all I bought a new Surface Pro 2 128mb from John Lewis on Friday and it was a 4300 CPU Lot number 1403
