red lines suddenly

i was using my surface book and suddenly verticle thick red lines appeared on my screen
what is it?
I turned off and waited still there then I waited about 2 hours and not there. Is something going out?
Graphics card?
anyone have this problem?

Sounds like over-heating or the dGPU is dying

Check your connection ports for micro-shavings or threads of debris. Those magnetized connectors also attract such stuff. Happened to me. Totally shut down display on my Surface Book 2. Thought it was gone. Found a tiny metallic thread.
