MUI Mail + OneNote vs. Desktop App Battery life

I have a one-month old Surface 3 i7 256GB. I haven't taken it for an extended trip where I'm away from an outlet, so I thought I would ask around for some opinions. Is there a huge difference with battery life between running Outlook and the full OneNote (already set to maximize battery life) desktop applications and running the MUI Mail app and the MUI OneNote? Thanks.

In general, most desktop apps were not designed with power consumption in mind, hence the power consumption.

However, Microsoft has optimized their software for optimum battery life, hence it should be efficient enough.
Even then though, it would still use more battery since theyre more advanced, they have more features, than MUI apps.
