Dual-booting with a Linux distro

I know that Windows 8.x and 10 even moreso are built to optimize the SP3 (emphasis on that first before detractors break out the flame throwers), and others have inquired about dual-booting between 8 and 10, but anybody dual-booting with Linux? Seriously thinking about laying down Ubuntu on this guy just for fun.

I am a very long term Linux user, and I've read somewhere that someone already did it. But I can't remember where. Maybe on the Ubuntu forum. You might find usefull advices by finding out who it was and contacting him.

Ubuntu doesn't support touch, but I can't see why it shouldn't work.

You can Boot Windows from a virtual harddisk, but that doesn't work with Linux, does it?
