Cleaning and removing sticky keys

I found a few old threads on cleaning the full keyboard but did not see any mention of actually removing the individual keys. I didn't spill any fluid on it, but guilty of spilling food crumbs which I think is what causing some of the keys to not register at times or become sticky.

Is the mechanical function of the keys like a regular desktop keyboard and easy to remove and clean? Any one have helpful tips to clean the type cover?

thanks!

Same thing happened with mine -- I contacted support and said I'd pay to send mine in and have it cleaned, the person I spoke with said to handle it as a warranty claim -- they shipped a replacement (brand new) keyboard in a box with a shipping label for me to return the first one.

Thanks @benjitek ! I'll see if they do the same for me. Otherwise I'll google/youtube to see if anyone has pulled keys for cleaning.
