Adjusting display brightness

Hi Forum,
When I invoke Device Manager in my Win10 Surface Pro 3, the Display adapters line is missing.
When I invoke MSINFO, expand Components and click Display, the right pane is empty.
When I invoke Windows Mobility Center and I move the slider in the Display brightness box right or left, the brightness remains unchanged.
The machine has all Windows updates.
Running System File Checker (SFC.EXE) ends successfully.
What’s wrong with this machine? How do I fix it?

It sounds like you need to "Reset my PC", with the "Keep my files" option. Search for "Reset" in settings.
