My i7 completed the updates with no issues, fan came on for a bit while installing the 11th update, but went off again quickly... Seems OK so far, just as quiet and non-fan running as it was before (and this is the i7 that's supposed to be a firebreathing monster). It's quite scary that two devices can behave such different ways. I'm tempted to beleive that my i7 was glued together exactly right and the software has been installing exactly right - I hope I don't turn it on tomorrow to discover some issues but so far so good! Very happy with my SP3!
