Is loose hinge normal?

In my old Surface 2 the hinge easily went from a solid first and second stage opening. My new Surface Pro 2 has a second stage hinge with a lot of play in the hinge. I wonder if this is normal?

On my sp2 the kickstand hinge is pretty solid in all three positions as in it takes quite some force to change angles. When locked in there is no give.

Can you confirm the Torx head size as a T5

T-5 looks correct, but I can't confirm as the smallest I have on hand is T-7.


Update: I looked in my iFix Manual and confirmed T-5...

Hi! Did it fix your problem? I think my hinge is quite loose as well. I'd try to tighten the screws, but I don't have any Torx screwdriver, so before buying one I'd like to make sure it will solve the issue..

I have had two SP2s so far and the hinge was somewhat loose in the second position on both of them.
