It's amazing. . the SP2 forums here were always so amazing regarding issues and how to solve them, and here in the SP3 forums we get a rousing rendition of people acting like disgruntled Apple fans. I'm never going to understand why people keep whining, because my unit does not throttle, the fan is nearly silent, even pushing Prime95 [you think it's loud you've never heard a GTX780ti reference going full bore] and gaming performance is on par for what I'm running. I'm almost convinced that during the anandtech comparison, some moron left the SP3 unplugged and was to embarassed to admit to it.
I'm not saying the SP3 is perfect. I've got SOME of the issues that other people are having [bluetooth, wifi slow on battery [which is weird, speedtest I get the same download speeds, but 1/4 upload speed] But this is part of new design launch. EVENTUALLY they'll figure it out [or I will]
The thing that really bothers me are that most of these toxic complaints seem to revolve around a fringe audience of people that seem to have WANTED this to be something like a Keyboardless 2014 Razer Blade. "It's slower than the SP2"! [gee, pushing 2160 x 1440 vs 1920 x 1080. . common sense dictates folks] "But I"m doing both at lower resolutions. . though I Shouldn't HAVE to, but it *MUST* be the cooling solution"! [Disable indexing and windows search, remove that crappy overblown PAID Anti-virus, use a browser sandbox program when you search pr0n. . . . I could really do this all day. . . AND DO NOT DISCOUNT THE POSSIBILITY THAT SOME UNDERPAID WORKER DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO APPLY THERMAL PASTE]
I'll give you one thing, connected standby was a moronic idea. What's the point if I can't continue to stream music when the screen shuts off? I suspect that eventually MS will offer a way to roll back to standard power profiles, at which point many of these performance anomalies will PROBABLY vanish.
If I'm ranting, well WHO ISN'T?! If you have genuine problems and want a SOLUTION, I and many other people are floating around and will help where we can. Mindlessly complaining about how "junk" the equipment is, and how you're going back to your iDevice . . . . please do. Solutions come by troubleshooting problems, not verbally abusing product X and pitching it disgustedly back at the store 20 minutes later. It doesn't do what you wanted it to do? Maybe you bought the wrong tool for the job. Maybe you have a genuine problem, but /ragequit, while it may make you feel better, doesn't help answer "why" or resolve any actual potential issues.
Lastly, and I ask this in all seriousness, can someone PLEASE post a youtube video of what you mean by "the fans are too loud"? I'm just genuinely curious if it's really an issue on some systems, or if some people just have expectations beyond physics.
