I am completely unable to get external 4k video at more than 30 hz. To prevent default answers: I am using (several different) HDMI 2.0 cables, I did test different adaptors from cheap to expensive (Apex 12 in 1 thunderbolt 4) and I am getting nowhere.
Latest test: My old Surface pro 4 gets an external 4k at 60 hz via a Surface dock 1 (although this seems to be beyond its specifications) via an MS DP to HDMI adaptor. The same setup with the surface pro 8 instead of the pro 4 won't give me more than 1920 at 60 hz or 3840 at 30 hz. Surface pro 8 seems to be the culprit. The thunderbolt interface can't keep its promise, I suppose. If you have a Surface pro 8, can you please check this?
Thanks a lot in advance.
