Stress Test

Hi guys,

Has anyone used a stress test to see their surface responds?

The surface I bought for myself, which I returned--did this weird thing where it would freeze at 80 degrees.

I have since got a new one that appears to be working fine, but I would like to do a stress test.

Anyone have any recommendations other than the intel extreme tuning utility?

What should happen to a surface when it reaches 80 degrees--throttle, fan, freeze?

My i5/256 SP3 reaches 90 degrees at first, then fan starts spinning at its max level and clocks become lower. then temprature goes down to ~70 degrees.

You can use heavyload from Jam Software to generate the load ttp://www.jam-software.com/heavyload/ and I always use the Coretemp tool minimized in the taskbar to keep an aye on the temperature ...

How do you test what temp its running at ?

It throttles when it is stressed. It shouldn't freeze or crash.
