Can you point be in the direction of a microSD card that can be write protected?Make sure that you didn't accidentally set the micro SD card to be write protected when you inserted it.
Just sayin...

You put them in a little adapter card, turn on write protect and then retrieve it. Usually it is only done when you send it to someone so nothing accidentally goes overwritten.Never have seen one of those. Interesting.
I would recommend to do this and one this is done to run Windows Update before anything else is installed.Welcome to the forum!
Since you said you don't really have anything on it yet except Microsoft stuff, if it was me (and believe me, it HAS been me many times...) I would do a full reset/ factory restore. It's pretty easy and won't take much time. Worked wonders on my 3-week old SP3.
I would do "reset- from within Windows" - https://www.microsoft.com/surface/e...recovery/restore-refresh-or-reset-surface-pro
If you still have issues afterward, we can chase them down.
Just my 2 cents' anyways.
