No I am not sure. On my side it didn't, but it could be that I am using the official Surface Pro 2 version of the drivers, and that there was not a new version of it that comes with it. My patch didn't get cleared:

You should not be touching the Intel, Nvidia or AMD (what ever computer you use) color adjustments, as these are software manufacture which reduces visible colors, hence leads to banding (stepping) on gradients. Always use the on screen monitor to adjust the colors. If you don't have access, like the Surface Pro 2, then you can't. The number of options inside for color adjustment, for display that you can access that option, varies between monitor to monitor.
The simple budget type monitors, usually only have Red, Green, Blue as adjustment. While high-ends one (still consumer grade), have color processor and look Up Table, allowing them to provide to you: Red, Green Blue, and even for some options: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow in addition, adjustments for Hue, Offset, Saturation, and Gain.
