Browser for Surface RT

I am trying to ressurect an old Surface-RT. This defaults to MS-Explorer for a browser, but this responds that this is no longer supported, and gives me options to use Edge, Firefox, Chrome and the Google browser, (can't remember the name of this...) All of these say that they are no longer supported either. Is it possible to connect to the web from an old 32-bit Surface-RT?

Your best bet might be to use Remote Desktop to connect to a computer that has the browser you like. If you happen to wander off-site, RT does have a VPN client.

I think you are getting beyond my competence here, but I am most grateful for your advice. And it isn't a question of what browser I "like". I just need a browser -any browser - that will run on this tablet.

Not really. This thread is a pretty exhaustive list of every program that has been ported to RT, and, with the exception of something called "QupZilla," (which is now quite out-of-date) there aren't really any choices for you aside from Internet Explorer. Again, using Remote Desktop to get into a different computer running the browser of your choice is probably the best option on the table for web stuff.
