Battery life time left

Hi

on my old surface pro 3 when I hovered mouse over battery level it told me time left until battery was dead

on the new surface it just says percentage left and not in hours and minutes

ive had a look but cant seem to find an option to change it over

any ideas

What Version of Windows 10 are you running? Are you on Version 1809? If not, you need the Fall Creator's Update

my surface is just in process of updating now to 1809 will this work once its updated cheers

Let us know. That should give you the “battery time” notification you need.

ive ditched using chrome now and am using edge on my pro 6 edge isn't bad at all tbh

I have two Surface Book units, a SB2, and a SB2 15 inch. Battery life is about 6 hours.

I don't use Chrome, as it cuts battery life in about half, for me.

yeh am using edge now am seems good but i just have percentage for battery and now hours left even after update pal

does you device let you see how long left in hours and minutes

When charging, you will see messages similar to these (depending upon your current status):

86% available (plugged in)
26 min to full charge
41% available
2 hours 3 minutes remaining
03 min to full charge
98% remaining

yes I get time till fully charged that's fine

what I want is time left till battery dead when running on battery online just says percentage and no time estimated

As the battery depletes, your Surface estimates the time remaining. After a certain percent remaining (maybe 40% or so) the message starts giving time estimates.
