I am a compulsive updater. I must check for software updates when starting up my Surface Pro 3, or my Mac, or my iPad, or even the GPS on my car.
I would gladly allow myself to be broken of this habit, if I could trust that Windows truly checks for updates. But every day, when I visit Settings / Change PC Settings / Update and Recovery / Windows Update, my computer LIES to me. I get a screen that says "We found no updates today...", obviously without even checking. When I click "Check now", then I find that there are indeed updates, and I install them.
Stop lying to me and check. Just stop. Like when my sons were growing up and I would ask them if they have any homework to do. "I have no homework today...".
