That's one big advantage of the Touch Cover. The keys of the Type Cover - when the cover is folded back - is quite disorienting and uncomfortable for me.

If you're going to use it with the Type Cover flipped behind, you can turn it around so the keys are not on the outside.

Too much work and, as you probably know, the Covers are a little delicate and I am loathed to fiddle around with them. But yes, what you say is indeed possible and I have heard of many folk who do precisely that.
