Newbee with problems

Hi Guys,
Just got a SP2. Wish I hadn't

Having all sorts of problems loading some programs :- Google Chrome, Google Earth, Foxtel Go to name a few.

The Google programs tell me they can't connect to the internet - the Firewall is blocking them. "Whitelisting" the programs and even turning off the Firewall altogether makes no difference. No matter where I try to down load the Foxtel one I get a message saying I can't download it "from this server" ?!?!?

Are all the problems I'm encountering a Microsoft/SP2 thing or have I got a dodgy unit?
Any advice appreciated.

My first thought is that you may be having an issue communicating with your router, Excluding Foxtel, can the other programs be installed if you try from a public hotspot?

I've tried at work off the business wi-fi. I've tried at the apartment using the building's wi-fi. Same result both places.

Was your SP2 new? Have you applied all the updates?

Yip, brand new and all updates applied.

Do you have any kind of anti-virus or other security software?

You said Google Chrome fails, what browsers do work?
