Mouse Pointer shrinks in size when connected to external monitor

I have a SP3. Whenever I plug into a external monitor (full HD) using the display port to HDMI converter, the mouse pointers immediately shrinks till its really tiny. Its still viewable on the large 23" monitor but it becomes totally impossibly small on the SP3 screen. I went to the mouse settings in control panel and try changing it but the mouse pointer still remains the same tiny size no matter which type of pointer I pick. Any help??

What type of Scaling are you doing? XP (Let me choose one....) or 8.1 "Slider"?

Actually the scaling is perfect for my SP3 as well as for my external monitor. I used the 8.1 slider.

Which video driver are you using? Stock or Updated from Intel?

Hmm...can you capture a shot of the Mouse Pointer Differences? Just to warn you, I'm no longer running Windows 8.1.1 as I updated to Windows 10 Technical Preview last night...

same problem here, though it comes and goes. when it's a problem I get just two separated dots as the "pointer" very hard to follow
