Microsoft Surface RT Videos (Reviews, Tips, Apps)

Here are some of the very basics of using a mouse on a Surface RT.

I would like to put tiles into folders for better/simpler screen management but there doesn't seem to be anyway to do this. This is a very quick look without doing any research. Hopefully a future video may find a solution.

In this video I take a look at a Snes emulator for the Surface RT. This opens up the world of emulation that we find on so many other devices. Will this go further on the Surface RT. Dosbox anyone?

Comment on Folders for tiles. doing that would defeat the main purpose of a tile which is "live" to display current information. Putting Calendar - Mail - People - Skype I a folder would mean I would have to open the folder to get current info. The way I organize is simply to remove Apps that do not have live tiles from the Start (unpin). simply drop back to all Apps to access them.

Someone said the same thing on the video page itself. It's a valid point. But I've found live tiles to be quite gimmicky so far. News ones never really give you enough information, or go to fast and (from what I've seen so far) and you can never get directly to the information on the live tile, it just launches the app.The option for folders would be nice.

I'm finding the startscreen to be fancy but not terribly functional.

In this video I compare the design of the Surface RT to the design of the iPad

In this video I compare the Surface RT to the iPad (3rd generation) in terms of playing a game.

In this video I compare the Surface RT to a Nexus 7 in terms of playing a game.

The game in question is Jetpack Joyride :)

I think the difference in performance has more to do with Surface being first generation, developers haven't had much time to optimize for Windows on ARM being such a new system. Android and iPad have had development for sometime so developers have already figured out optimizations. The Xbox 360 hasn't changed since it was released as far as specs go but the games today have vastly improved in both graphics and performance from the initial games at release.

A very basic video on the concept of pins in this video:
