I hated the idea of sticking that little loop on the back of the keyboard--it seems so cheesy. I wondered how strong the new charging magnet was and to my surprise, it holds the steel clip in place quite firmly. I've got a carbon fiber skin on the Surface, so I'm not worried about scratching the surface (double entendre intended). At the very least, it's a good for keeping the pen out of the way while you're working.
