Make sure your people & calendar apps are live
How do you do that?

I use mine on my Surface Pro 1, no extra power, and it burns dvd's just fine. Maybe the SP3's usb 3.0 port is lower power than the SP1? True, I don't have a SP3 to test it on, but it's designed to work on usb2.0, which is lower power than usb3.o.was this actually tested in a Surface Pro 3?
I ask because the Surface PRO 3 USB does not have enough amperage to power an external DVD (even a reader). Your only chance to get one to work is if the DVD drive has its own power supply.
Do not waste your money on this one. It will not work in a Surface Pro 3.
Indeed. It would be wonderful if we knew the exact cable that he used.
