In my Microsoft account calendar, there are at least 3 calendars (Jamearl, holiday and public). Try entering new appointment to see if issue resolved. Microsoft services could have been down when the appointment was entered. I'm not sure if the sync process only goes back to certain time/point or goes back several days each time.
