Best 2TB external USB 3.0 drive for SP3

I think there are two standards for USB 3.0: low power (150mA) and high power (900mA). I cannot find which are used in SP3/dock...

I did a bunch of reading last night on USB, standards, power standards etc. and there is a LOT there. Compounding the confusion a bit is the fact that like you said, the power standards change from time to time, but A) manufacturers often don't follow the standards exactly and B) sometimes difficult to tell from the packaging (i.e., before you buy it and rip it open..) what that particular drive requires.

Picked up a Seagate slim (as I've had problems in the past w WD).

Works perfect on the SP3

I'll just mirror what you said swapping Seagate and WD. Seagate drives are always slower too.

I have used both Seagate and WD and I have not had issues with either.
