Disable the touch screen to use the pen

Do you think it would be possible to execute this script when I press the button onto the top of the pen? That would make it really convenient!

Disable the touch screen to use the pen

Thanks for posting this. I will give it a try. I wish Microsoft would issue a fix for the palm rejection problems so we don't have to hack around the problem.

    Temp and Power Mgmt App?

I know what you mean. A lot of times it's Windows Modules Installer Worker running an automatic update. Disable automatic updates to prevent this. Other times, Microsoft's anti virus runs when the tablet is idle - not much we can do about this. I did run a program for a while that would ding...

    Pen intermittently working

Yes. This backup method is "deprecated", but still works great. Follow this guide: http://winsupersite.com/windows-8/windows-81-tip-use-system-image-backup

    Pen intermittently working

Windows 8.1 has a built in bit for bit backup utility that you can use to back up your Surface. Back it up to a USB hard drive or NAS, get a replacement from Microsoft, and reapply the backup on your replacement Surface.

Very strange pen behavior (Video included)

Did Microsoft accept this as a hardware warranty issue? Are they sending you an advanced replacement Surface?

External Display? 1440p or 4k? 24" or 27" ? What would you suggest?

I think it's easy to use one 27in 4k monitor in place of 2 24in monitors - expecially if you use 150% scaling. I'm glad you're happy with the 4k Dell.

Very strange pen behavior (Video included)

I'm having the same problems with my surface and Onenote 2013. Removing the pen battery sometimes fixes it for a while. Let me know if the calibration mentioned above works for you.

External Display? 1440p or 4k? 24" or 27" ? What would you suggest?

A co-worker purchased the 24" 4K Dell. It doesn't have a collage mode, so you'd still have to run at 50Hz SST. He also has the 27" 4K Dell and prefers it over the 24", because the 24" is cramped vertically due to being 16x9 instead of 16x10. The 16x9 27" 4K Dell is similar in height to a...

Dual 4K Monitors using Docking Station

You might be able to. I guess the only way to know for sure is to try it... : ). The 4K's are really nice because of DPI scaling not being an issue, maybe you should get a couple of 4K's.

Dual 4K Monitors using Docking Station

The main reason I purchased the 27" 4K monitor was for the DPI scaling to be the same between the Surface's screen and the monitor's screen. Windows chooses 150% DPI scaling for this monitor which is the same DPI scaling that the Surface's screen uses. No more scaling issues when docking /...

Dual 4K Monitors using Docking Station

It is possible to drive two 4K monitors plus the Surface's screen by using the dock's mini display port and the Surface's mini display port at the same time. The Surface can't drive a 4K monitor at 60Hz, but it can at 50Hz with a custom resolution. Everything was pretty smooth, even at 50Hz...

Convince me that the Dock is worth the money

The sound output device automatically switches when connected to the dock and vice-versa. The dock won't solve your multi-monitor scaling issues - you'll need to buy a high-DPI external monitor to completely alleviate scaling problems. I have a 27" Dell P2715Q 4K monitor attached to the...

Convince me that the Dock is worth the money

I just bought the dock and received it today. My decision was based on the following: An extra charger for my desk costs $80 retail, so if you're going to get an extra charger anyway, the dock only cost $120 more. I got mine on Amazon for $165. Cables hanging off the Surface's connectors put...

Solved Surface stutters (experiences dropped frame rates) during simple tasks like scrolling.

I noticed this behavior after installing f.lux (screen tone program). It turns out that f.lux polls the screen every second or so and by doing so caused a frame to skip. F.lux has a "Safe Mode" option that doesn't do this. After turning that on, I haven't had any dropped frames. Look for...

Microsoft Surface Pro 3- MediaCenter Protected Content Error

Try restoring the window so it's not maximized, then change the channel back and forth. Sometimes this gets it working for me. You can maximize the program after it starts working. An alternative is to install HDHomeRun VIEW (their new beta player) or HDHomeRun QuickTV. The downside is that...

Specify 2.4 or 5 GHz WiFi bands on Surface Pro 3

With the new January 15 firmware update there is an option in the wi-fi driver settings to specify 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz bands to connect to.
