    kickstand: S3 vs SP3

    I got my S3 couple days ago, after almost 1 year using an i5 SP3 24-7 (work and personal use). I really liked the kickstand on my SP3, but I have always been worried of opening it completely. It was making noises, it was wobbling, sometimes cracking, and to be honest, I was afraid to damage it...

    Flashlight blinking when turning on and off

    As long as my Pro 3 doesn't do it, I wondered why my S3 does it. But I agree with you, it's not an annoying issue. Thanks for your answer.

    Needs advice on screen & fan issues

    I had exactly the same thing with my first SP3. It was driving me crazy. At the beginning it was a little background sound, and after 4 months it became much louder. I eventually exchanged the device (I also had bad screen bleeding). A "normally" balanced fan doesn't make this mosquito noise...

    C++ program needed for school

    Just give a try to geany+MinGW. I can help you to set it up if you want. It works very well, I use it every day.

    C++ program needed for school

    Hi, I use geany (https://www.geany.org/) as an editor and g++ (http://mingw.org/) as a compiler. It works perfectly, it is very light and you don't need a big whole package just to run C++.

    need advice

    Hi there, I need an advice concerning a trouble with my SP3. Since day 1 my SP3, which is already a replacement device -- my original SP3 had screen bleeding -- has a strange and quite large mark underneath the screen. It is not the circular mark that we've seen on some devices, but there is a...

    from Win10 back to 8.1

    This is actually the main con of Win10. Tablet mode is pointless, I totally agree with you. By the way, yesterday I read something interesting about how Win10 could become an open source OS. That could be the best idea MS had for a long time.

    Dual-booting with a Linux distro

    I am a very long term Linux user, and I've read somewhere that someone already did it. But I can't remember where. Maybe on the Ubuntu forum. You might find usefull advices by finding out who it was and contacting him. Ubuntu doesn't support touch, but I can't see why it shouldn't work.

    from Win10 back to 8.1

    Well, the Windows button in Win10 was useless for me because the tablet mode is not a real tablet mode yet, and I was never using it. Using a desktop oriented OS in a tablet mode feels weird and very annoying. And the stupid taskbar that doesn't go away is one of the main reason. With Win 8.1...
