My Surface keeps hanging at 45% and refuses to budge. Have gone through the routine of cleaning the cache after stopping Windows Update etc.. a couple of times without avail. 45% it is.. anyone else having a problem, or ideas of how to overcome this?

My pen seems to have lost its setting post the update. I had it set to launch OneNote 2016 desktop.. now it doesn't seem to want to do so. Ideas?

Get a Tactical bag you like, and slip in the surface with a protective cover into it. Not sure if anyone manufactures tactical laptop bags..

In running diagnostics etc.. the microphone on my SP4 seems to be working fine. However while using Skype the people being called cant hear me. The issue persists even if I use an earbud mike.. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver et al. Am at a loss.. Help and ideas would be...

Try this.. 1. Uninstall the the windows hello driver "Surface Camera Windows Hello". Which will re-install when you reboot. 2. Deactivate hello and pin. 3. Set them up again You could also try this in t 2,1,3 sequence. Should work.. let us know

There will always be something better around the corner. Though when do we round the corner is anyone's guess. Sure the SP5 will be better than the SP4, but the SP6 will beat them both. I would just get the SP4, and then in couple of years upgrade to the SP6. But that is me.

Here in the EU we have to pull all electronics out of the bag, laptops, hybrids, tablets, phones et al.

Defender is a decent AV. Personally I use Norton.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. I have just turned on Windows Hello after the update.. and am quite impressed by it.

I did the update this morning.. without a glitch. So am a happy camper.

My wireless seems to have become flaky all of a sudden. It connects to the network, and then looses connectivity particularly to the internet. Have tried uninstalling the adapter..no joy. Have made the registry changes as well without luck. Solutions appreciated.

Just today in a couple of situations the pen stopped inking. However pressing the button still brought up One Note. Just wouldn't recognise the tip, either as a click or display my scrawling. Happened while using One Note the first time, and PowerPoint the second time. A reboot fixed it, but I...

This is bizzare. Unless there is a HW failure stuff like this doesn't happen spontaneously. Have installed something recently?

Updated in one go.. I found the progress bars changing colour quite amusing. Then again I am easily amused.

Typically occurs due to memory corruption. This is the Power Dependency connector. To fix it.. unplug your machine for about 10-20 seconds and reboot. Normally will clear it up. Also make sure your drivers are upto date. Finally run a MemTest to ensure your RAM is OK. HTH.
