I have done a dozen or so anniversary updates without an issue. I am pretty sure that if you go to Update & Security in Windows Settings and choose Learn More, it will take you to a URL that you can do the Anniversary Update.

Video connections on computers (any) are output only. Wish you could use the Surface as monitor sometimes. Your best solution is to purchase a nice size monitor for at home. They are a cheap way to save you vision.

I suspect it might not be a Surface problem. The tilting thing might be an indication of a weak signal coming from your wireless router. Have you tried it being a few feet away from the router? Maybe you have a friend that has a Surface could come by and check his connection to your router...

I don't use iTunes but I thought I'd check since I have the Anniversary update installed. iTunes opened up almost immediately for me. I would suggest you look through the details in Task Manager to see if you can see if anything is eating up a bunch of your computer resources.
