Here's a bit of good news for those of us running the older Intel Video Drivers in order to access the HD Control Panel. As you know, W10 will constantly try to replace these with the non-HD Control Panel 1/5/15 drivers through the Windows Update. While they will be replaced, GAMMA SETTINGS from your HD Control Panel DO APPEAR TO STICK

So if you had your rig setup the way you like looks wise before, it will retain that even though you lose the HD Control Panel. As far as other functionalities can't say. But for me, the new drivers DO SEEM TO WORK BETTER once you've flashed the earlier Intel Drivers.

UPDATE** YouTube and Hulu apps work under new drivers but Netflix throws a "System Configuration Error". Netflix using Silverlight plugin in Firefox does work however - so seems just the app is broken. Will try uninstalling and reinstalling it to check.

** Reinstalled Netflix app. Still fail. Works fine under Intel Drivers. Since not too big of a hassle to use those will be flashing back after every update until MS gets this sorted out. Funny that their drivers break basically the single most popular app in their entire store. So M$ (to quote Archer).

Is there a way for Notifications Panel to stop listing the 25 times it asked me if I wanted to be in Tablet Mode?

P.S., Still have never been able to get IE to launch. Any ideas?

I' back to Windows 8.1, after playing the last two days with the new build. It is interesting but still has a number of mainly small but annoying issues. Still I liked a lot what I saw, will be waiting eagerly for the RTM.

Is anyone else getting a chime when closing their type cover? It prompts for tablet mode before going to sleep a second later.

Yes getting the chime, don't think it's prompting for any thing though

its just me, or everyone facing this bug with continuum? It appers even when im closing the lid, not giving device to go to sleep

I have set my SP3 to go to sleep when I close the type keyboard and I believe it does with no problems

Thanks for the confirmation. If you close the type cover but open it quickly you'll see that the chime is notification of entering touch mode, just before it goes to sleep.

Notifications just seems to be lower down on their list of priorities right now. I have this kind of issue with numerous applications, from windows defender to drawboard (i have it autosave every 2 minutes, so i get another notification every two minutes. You'd have thought they'd be able to group messages by app. They seem to have no issue doing that when they ***** up the history section in desktop IE (i still think thst i must be missing an option somewhere allowing me just to list every site visited in chronological order!)

With regard to apps not opening, i had a big issue with no MUI apps opening just the icon showing in the taskbar, and my only work aroubd was to open up msconfig and disable the intel hd control panel under startup options (this was windows drivers, where there is no usable intel control panel)

Im sure it is something that will be fixed. The machine/keyboard is able to identify when it is being folded backwards, and just turns the keyboard off, and when it is being closed, and turns both keyboard and screen off. So im sure they will fix thst before too long.

Still having issues here, typically when not plugged in, with the display failing it seems. It goes a solid color and I can't access the start menu. Almost like the leak we saw in explorer.exe in the one earlier build. I have flashed the drivers manually through device manager, are others installing those drivers a different way? I just keep getting blue screens.

I am back on Win 10 after my big crash of yesterday.

I figured out the tiles problem -- they don't resize properly. If you go to Control panel -> System ->Advanced System Settings -> Advanced -> Performance -> Settings -> Visual Effects

If you use the "Adjust for best performance" settings, then the tiles stop resizing properly. It is more of a sporadic problem but it is highly annoying.

"Animate controls and elements inside Windows" - "Animate Windows when minimizing and maximising" - "Animation in the task bar" seem to be the guilty settings, but I didn't figure out yet wich one is causing troubles, but they have to be selected. If not selected, then tiles don't resize well.

Moreover, Skype has problems. When making a call , the Windows driver foundation goes crazy (CPU usage 30%). As soon as you stop Skype, driver goes back to normal.

Win 10 uses a lot more RAM than 8.1 (20-25% vs 10-15% when SP3 is idling) and the battery life seems to be decent, but not as good as Win 8.1.

And I also have the Intel driver problem -- video in IE not playing.

Despite these hickups, so far I like WIn 10 enough to try to live with it as my main OS.
