Win 10 Upgrade 14393.10 Cortana BUG

Win 10 Pro ver 1607 14393.10. Cortana not working for speech. Configure gear does not allow for notebook
speech or set up. Only can use search.
Upgraded via the Media Creation tool via the ISO saving my files. No Go. Then did a clean ISO install and same issue with Cortana. I have downloaded the 8/1/16 sp3 hardware update.Upgaded a desktop with the same ISO and no issues!

no, it has to do with KB3176929, which moved the version number to 14393.10, from 14393.5. check and see if you're able to remove that update. if you can, Cortana will work.

Uninstalled the KB, restart and all fixed. Whats with the KB file?

I don't know. i'm hoping they get the feedback and release an updated version. but I have a 2nd account on my pc, and that one's fine, just my main account disables Cortana.

also, this update will install itself again, so you may have to uninstall it again.

Unfortunately Windows keeps installing KB3176929 so back in same boat. Found a work around by changing the search engine to default to Bing, Edit the registry, reboot and Cortana is back in service.
