Are you saying that having desktop μtorrent running doesn’t allow your machine to sleep, or that your machine never sleeps regardless of what program is running? If the former, is this behaviour only with μtorrent or with other desktop programs as well?

Just utorrent, which i'm glad for. I have it set to never sleep when plugged in, when on battery it's the stock settings. But battery or plugged in, utorrent will continue downloading in the background when i close the cover or press the power button. I really don't have enough programs installed (maybe 10 applications) to be able to say if this occurs with other things as well.

Hmm, I’ve never heard of that. So if you don’t use μtorrent and on battery, your machine goes to sleep as normal?

Indeed. If i'm heading out to university i have to make sure to quit utorrent before i leave else I face the risk of running out of battery halfway through my day.
