HowTo Use the Pen with Outlook

Using the pen with Outlook 2016 is easy. Just click with the pen in the body of the message and a "Pens" menu pops up. Begin writing.

Outlook provides the guide lines automatically. You may follow them if you wish. Writing area is automatically trimmed as necessary before sending the note.

Note also shown as received. Note the highlighting is okay, but not exactly as sent.

I tried but couldn't get it to work.

I opened Outlook through my work acct, and that's as far as it went. The pen didn't register on the message and clicking the pen "eraser" opened up OneNote as usual.

Am I missing something?

You may be missing Outlook 2016.

That's it, I think. The work Outlook is 2010, I think. I'll check with my work IT guys before going further.

I got it to work with Outlook 2013 on my Pro 3 - very cool

Note that you have to open the new email in a separate Window...

You have been able to ink emails since Office 2007 (maybe 2003)....
