Uneven Screen Brightness

On my Surface 2, the top of the screen (seen in landscape mode, with the Windows button at the bottom of the screen) dims very slightly towards the edge over the last few mm. It's a very slight effect, but the other edges don't have it. Is that a feature of these screens?

No, it could be a hardware flaw. You could exchange it. Be aware that some screens have backlight bleed flaws as well, though usually that's only visible under specific circumstances (e.g. 100% brightness). There was someone else who described an odd "fading/washed out" effect in one corner of their screen, especially for text, but so far that's the only report here that I know of.

Hi there sorry to resurrect this, but I'm wondering if you exchanged your S2 and whether you got the diminished top edge again?

I have the exact same issue with my panel on my SP2. Here's my thread. And I noticed this characteristic on ALL surface models at the MS stores here in Seattle.
