Surface 2 is superior to Surface Pro 2, except for one big thing

My guess is that if it from Oracle it uses Java, IE 10 on your desktop should be able to install the Java plugin and the calendar app should work though you may need to view in compatibility mode. RT does not support plugins outside of Flash, so unless there is a lite Version they can enable you'll be out of luck.

There are a couple I use that don't currently work with IE11.

Anyone know why Pulse.me is no longer allowing me to click on individual sources anymore? This was working in 8.1 preview, but no longer on RTM. I know there is an app, however 50/50 snap doesn't render correctly and you're forced make it a bit bigger to 60/40. Otherwise I get the 1/4 view in 50/50 snap. In browser, it adjusted to any snap size.

Can't believe MS didn't include a pen with the Surface 2. There goes a huge student target market that was theirs for the taking.

Stylus support is possible with the Tegra 4 and it's already built in... No digitizer necessary and you can use any conductive object you have available. MS simply decided to disable it for some strange reason. I think we ought to start a petition asking them to turn this feature on ASAP.

I think that there is more to the story than "Microsoft simply decided to disable it".

I'm thinking they didn't have enough time to iron out any kinks or bugs with it. As far as being used with other programs before.

Remember, MS has been kind of short changing themselves with Tegra3 and Tegra4.

How? Because they haven't even figured out how to use that 5th power saving core in each of them chips yet. Or some other reason why. But if they did, battery life would likely be even better than it is now with the RT line.

But Panos did say on Redditt its something they could enable down the line. The other theory of it causing even more confusion could be possible. In differentiating between pro and RT line.

I don't see why this is impressive. This doesn't look any different than using a capacitive stylus with any other tablet that uses a capacitive screen. I can use one of those with my ancient iPhone 2G if I dug it out of the closet. Pressure sensitivity is nice, but it's nowhere near as precise as a Wacom/nTrig type device. Some guy in the crowd even asks him outright "so that's just a capacitive stylus, it's all image processing and software" and the presenter says "yeah". Am I missing something?

A few of the major things it does do that capacitive stylus cannot do is palm rejection and it can sense the other end of the the stylus which can be used as an eraser. Check out this youtube video its of the tegra note which uses the same processor.

Not that this tablet is in the same league as the surface 2, but a display of what the stylus non-the-less.
