stylus gaming - desktop flashing through ruins it

Hi guys,

When you play old games (eg planetscape torment) the stylus is actually a great input device.... only thing is every time the stylus is near the screen it shows the desktop through the game in a square around where the stylus is.

Just thought I'd post in case someone knows why that might happen....?
