SP2 Keeps Freezing

Since the latest WIN8 update, the system keeps freezing.
Have tried to reset today but still having the same problem.
Any thoughts?

I suspect you have the same problem as I have. Explorer keeps crashing. Desktop/Start Menu freezes and when trying to close desktop applications explorer.exe restart.

Very annoying. Almost unworkable. Reinstalled to an older image (mine is replaced with Win 8.1.1 Enterprise) with older drivers (March 2014) but freezing not solved.

Firmware updates must be causing this. Any way to revert to previous firmware?

Unfortunately you are unable to revert firmware itself, only the drivers installed along with it.

Mine just froze totally two days ago. Haven't been able to bring it back to life yet. Keep on getting this BIOS/UEFI screen and have probably tried all the available options on it - not really knowing what they meant. After that, the best I have so far is a screen saying it is 'carrying out automatic repairs' and these may take 'more than one hour'. Several hours later - no change.

Am now reaching a stage of some desperation. Any ideas very welcome...
