SDXC Slot Performance

Hello all, I've looked everywhere but can't find anything pertaining to my question. Has anyone ever benchmarked the Surface Pro 2's SDXC slot? If it runs off of a USB 2.0 bus, then I don't want to bother getting a fast 64gb card that can do 90MB/s, I'll just spend a little bit more money and get a 128gb card that does 30MB/s. I spoke to someone on the microsoft store's chat, and they said it had a max throughput of 30MB/s. Just want to clarify if that's true or not.
