So I'm pretty clueless when it comes to Windows (long time Mac user) what's the benefit of using these drivers as opposed to letting Windows update them?
Thanks.
I find the Intel site drivers run a little hotter than the default drivers and drain the battery a little more on the SP3. If you don't need them for gaming, which I don't, what I do is install the latest driver then once installed run the Install HD Graphics Control Panel so I can adjust brightness and contrast. Once installed I reinstall the native driver. This allows me to calibrate the screen for better movie playback without the loss in battery life and I don't have to keep reinstalling the Intel site drivers every time there is an update.
EDIT: It appears the Intel Control Panel will no longer work with native SP3 drivers. Bummer!!
