In this article, you will learn a simple way to rip and put Blu-ray movies on Microsoft Surface Pro tablet for enjoyment.
The Surface Pro is poor in video playback. It lacks powerful video apps to decode kinds of video files. Though it's as powerful as a laptop in some respects, it doesn't have the ability to read and play discs. So it's a great pity for users who store lots of Blu-ray discs in their home.
In my opinion, spending lots of time to find a video app isn't equal to put Blu-ray movies on Surface Pro by using a 3rd party tool. Here, i will share my own experience on how to load Blu-ray movies onto Surface Pro with you.
To get the work done, a 3rd-party tool - Blu-ray Ripping software is needed. There are many programs out there which allow you get the movies off of your Blu-ray discs and onto Surface Pro tablet for playback. If you're looking for ease of use and don't mind spending $40 (they currently have a sale), I've had success using Pavtube's Blu-ray Ripper to convert Blu-Ray discs to a format playable by Microsoft Surface Pro. I've found the quality to be excellent, and see no difference when compared to playing the discs themselves. Below are the steps:
1. Download and install Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper to your PC.
2. Click "Blu-ray disc" button to choose and import Blu-ray or DVD movies from your computer's hard drive to the program. As you can see, added files can be previewed on the right viewing window. You can adjust the video volume and take snapshots of your favorite movie scenes.
Tips: Before the conversion, you can click "Edit" button on the top to edit your videos by cropping, trimming, adding watermarks, etc. What's more, you can choose the subtitles and audio track for the target video on the main interface.
3. Click "Format" bar, you can get optimized videos for Surface Pro under "Windows > Microsoft Surface Windows RT/Pro H.264 Video (*.mp4)". The output videos could fit on Surface Pro or RT perfectly. If you like, you can click "Settings" to change the video encoder, resolution, frame rate, etc. as you wish.
4. After all the above settings, simply click "Convert" button to start converting Blu-ray files to Surface Pro MP4 videos.
Just wait for the converting process to be done. After that, find the converted videos in your output folder and transfer them your Surface Pro Tablet with cable. In this way, you can play 1080p Blu-ray movies on Microsoft Surface Pro with ease.
